Nehemiah 9:19 

“Because of your great compassion you did not abandon them in the wilderness. By day the pillar of cloud did not fail to guide them on their path, nor the pillar of fire by night to shine on the way they were to take.”

After the miraculous exodus of the Israelites from Egypt, Israel quickly went back to their sinful and blasphemous ways, despite witnessing God’s incredible hand at work. Regardless, God continued to provide them with food, water, and direction through the wilderness. This is the deep compassion and love of God. 

God will continue to provide and guide us, despite our rebellious ways as well. God has a plan for Israel. He also has a plan for us. If we confess and repent of our sin, as Israel did, He will provide. This is the deep compassion and love of God for us.
